THE BLUE OCEAN VENT
Your ironer’s hot, moist exhaust is full of energy which can be recovered and re-used, why waste that!
The Wientjens Blue Ocean Vent recovers energy from ironer exhaust and uses it to heat fresh water for the wash process. It is a compact, lightweight, air-to-water energy recovery system. The heated water is stored in a separate buffer tank, the Wientjens AquaEnergy System, available for washers whenever needed.
The Blue Ocean Vent combines efficient heat transfer technology with practical, laundry-friendly design features.
Payback on investment typically within 2 years.

Blue Ocean Vent
specifications
Important specifications
3 capacities, for ironers with 1,2 or 3 rolls
Connection at ironer exhaust reduces installation costs
Connection to the AquaEnergy System for flexible energy storage
Laundry applications
Recover heat from laundry ironer exhaust to heat fresh water
Reduce energy consumption, improve laundry CO₂ footprint
Reduce thermal air pollution from ironer exhaust
Optimal energy recovery
Recovering heat from steam-laden ironer exhaust is a no brainer. Using the recovered energy to heat laundry process water means all recovered energy is used optimally, no losses due to fluctuations in ironer use.
Designed for laundries
Made of robust stainless steel and requiring only 0.6 m² space on top of the ironer, the Wientjens Blue Ocean Vent is compact, easy to install and low maintenance
Control of stored energy
A solution offering energy recovery together with a thermal battery in the form of stored hot water offers process flexibility as well as saving on laundry energy costs
CO₂ reduction
You will make real, quantifiable steps in CO₂ reduction thanks to energy recovery, your Wientjens Dashboard will give you data and insights on this.
Hello, World!
Blue Ocean Vent features
The very compact Wientjens Blue Ocean Vent allows you recover energy from your laundry ironer exhaust effectively. Its compact size allows placement directly on the ironer itself. That means less pipework, easy installation and hassle-free maintenance.
Cold (or tempered) fresh water flows through the Blue Ocean Vent heat exchanger, where it is heated thanks to the energy released during condensation of the ironer exhaust. The heated fresh water is piped to the AquaEnergy System, the cooled exhaust is is discharged to the atmosphere. Fluctuations in ironer usage are not an issue with air-to-water energy recovery,
-
The compact size and vertical design of the Blue Ocean Vent are of huge advantage to laundries:
Placement on the ironer itself is possible
Installation is simple and quick making it low cost
Unit is easily accessible for maintenance
-
As ironer use typically fluctuates throughout the day, energy recovered by the Blue Ocean Vent is stored in the form of hot water in the AquaEnergy System.
All energy recovered from the ironer exhaust is carefully stored for later use, no waste
Hot, fresh water (up to 85°C) stored in the AquaEnergy System is available on demand, bringing process flexibility
The multi-functional AquaEnergy System can also service other energy recovery systems in the laundry, e.g. energy recovered from effluent.
-
The Blue Ocean Vent design is simple and straightforward, reducing maintenence needs.
Its positioning on top of the ironer and not on the roof or in an attic, means it is very easily accessible for laundry technicians.
It is anti-fouling by design,
Condensation is discharged through x, no mess anywhere
